Meet Yuki: The Cheerful Child Who Transforms Lives in “Yuki: Ang Mensahero ng Pag-Asa”

In a world where small gestures can make a big difference, Teacher Rhois Lacson’s new children’s book, “Yuki: Ang Mensahero ng Pag-Asa” (“Yuki: The Messenger of Hope”), shines a light on the power of kindness through the eyes of an extraordinary young girl.

This heartwarming tale introduces readers to Yuki, a cheerful and creative child who loves to write and draw on her notepad. But there’s something unique about Yuki that sets her apart. As Teacher Rhois Lacson reveals, the inspiration for Yuki’s journey came from an unexpected source. “I was watching a series called ‘Fated to Love You,’ where the female lead uses sticky notes to convey her messages. It sparked the idea of a child using sticky notes in a unique way,” says Teacher Rhois.

Yuki: The Messenger of Hope is unique because it seamlessly blends English and Filipino translations, which makes it easier for more people to connect with the story. Teacher Rhois notes, “It’s a children’s book, but not your typical one. Yuki’s journey is about overcoming challenges and spreading hope in a way that’s both relatable and inspiring.”

The book’s powerful message is clear: “Like Yuki, a brave heart can move mountains. Small acts of kindness bring ripples of hope and encouragement.” Through Yuki’s adventures, children learn the importance of kindness and how one person’s courage can impact the world, leaving them inspired and hopeful.

When asked about the challenges, Teacher Rhois faced significant ones while writing, particularly in crafting a character who rises above difficulties and creating scenarios that resonate with young readers. “The key was to build a character and story that children could connect with while still conveying a powerful message,” she shares.

“Make it a habit to write daily. Read, read, and read. Believe in yourself and don’t give up,” Teacher Rhois advised aspiring writers.
