Celebrating Indie Voices: 8Letters at the UP CAL Book Fair 2025
8Letters brought fresh stories for the scholars ng bayan at UP’s Buwan ng Panitikang Filipino: Book Fair, organized by the College of Arts and Letters, held at the CAL Atrium and Basement, UP Diliman, spanning from April 22 to 23, 2025.

It was a festive gathering of independent publishers and bookstores from across the country, championing the theme, “Literatura: Daluyan ng Dangal, Linangan ng Kultura.” Joining the celebration, 8Letters showcased a diverse selection of books—from fiction to non-fiction, including horror, thriller, romance, children’s stories, and poetry—offering something for every scholar who visited the booth.
Three of 8Letter’s beloved authors also made an appearance! Che De Leon graced the event’s first day with her presence to promote her critically acclaimed novel, Silence, becoming our bestseller! Huann Binimbol also attended, which delighted those who got the chance to bag a signed copy of Records of Journey in Aeon Frigg. Author of Laro sa Dilim, Bert Banico, also stopped by to share his several works, Liwanag, Sa Piling Mo, and Paano Maging Pilipino.
Other fictional titles also piqued the interest of dear event visitors, including the Gift of Merci, Silence the Prier, and Vassals of the Valley, and many more!
8Letters remains in full support of similar events that foster the vibrant indie literary scene in the Philippines. It’s an opportunity to provide a unique space for readers and writers to connect, honor diverse stories, and encourage a deeper appreciation for literature as a reflection of Filipino culture and identity.
