Instead, he allowed the characters guide him throughout their journey of self-exploration and their carnal desires. 

Although often misunderstood or stigmatized, Chad views that erotica could be a form self-expression and empowerment. He believes that writing about sexual explorations, whether from own experiences or of own desires, could serve as a means of embracing openness to the experience. However, he stressed the importance of execution with care and responsibility in mind, and with well-written researched materials.

When asked how erotica could be approached with respect and authenticity, he shares, “How readers would take it varies, but it is also the strength of this anthology – its variety of the writing style that sets the tone of voice for each story. Some stories here sound quirky and easy to read. Some can trigger their minds to think out of the box. Some might be terrifying. That’s what sets this book apart from just a plain novel that all characters just have sex all the time.”

Aside from the character’s sexual exposition or experience, this anthology highlights their meaningful journey which he thinks the readers will be able relate to. He hopes this would impart a sense of value within the readers’ selves and could translate to respect and power.

A piece of advice Chad shares for aspiring authors that are inclined to explore erotica, is to engage the basic senses – sight, smell, hearing, taste and an additional one that is vital to this genre: feeling the heat of what you have written.
