When people first asked me why I left the priesthood, I tried to explain lengthily the theological, spiritual (yes, would you believe!) and emotional underpinnings of my leaving. Entering and exiting ordained priesthood were two major decisions I made at largely different stages in my personal growth as a human being and Christian. I thought both decisions through.

Each had a long story.
