Description

When a tsunami separates Ruben from his family while they vacation on Balut Island in the Philippine archipelago, he washes up on an uncharted island. But he’s not alone. Miro, a young man, along with his cat and dog, made a home on the island known by seafaring travelers as their safe haven from a long voyage on the sea.

As time goes on and Ben waits for rescue, he meets a variety of characters that help weave a tapestry of the world beyond the Desolate Sea. And in the middle of it all is Miro and his island, that teaches Ben more of who he is and what he wants out of his life than he could ever dream.
