Post-loss, Elara checks her Mom’s wish list. She aggressively plans and pin-pricks each. Every time she succeeds, Grief appears standing half a basketball court away, against the sunlight, or at a highway curb. Grief stays there quietly as a black blob. Every time, Elara deliberately ignores her, continually moving away.

Grief, standing almost six feet, shrinks gradually until she disappears. One day, Elara stands before her Mom’s final wish list, desperately searching for Grief to help her accomplish it, but Grief never appears standing half a basketball court away, against the sunlight, or at a highway curb.
