WENDELL GLENN p. CAGAPE, Phd
Dr. Wendell Glenn Cagape is a social science researcher, ethnographer, and writer who won the Best Paper Award for the 2018 ASEANnale at the University of the Philippines and a fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland. He earned his PhD in Southeast Asian Studies at Centro Escolar University and currently pursues another PhD in Indigenous Studies at the University of the Philippines in Baguio. He has immersed himself in indigenous communities from Luzon to Mindanao and had rendered talks on qualitative research and ethnography in Bangladesh and Thailand. He presented his researches locally and abroad in international conferences held in Malaysia, Brunei, Japan, China, the Philippines, Taiwan, Australia, and Russia.
He has just published this third book under 8Letters that mainly highlights the Subanen Indigenous peoples. You will often see him drinking coffee and enjoying life. He still reflects on life while on the beach, walking in mountain and crossing rivers or just in company of strangers.
He lives in Manila while working on several projects and his upcoming book that talks about his coffee experiences all over the country as he travels.
