Marisstella, also known to some as Jannine Maris M. Turno, is a writer whose inherent curiosity and constant observations have blossomed from a perceived “curse” into a powerful tool for storytelling. Whether under her given name, which she sometimes playfully wonders about its pronunciation in readers’ minds, or her easily remembered pen name, Marisstella, brings a thoughtful and expressive voice to her work.
Her deep love for writing took root in high school, where her hand-written novels surprisingly found a wide and appreciative audience among friends and strangers alike. This early validation ignited a passion that led her to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication in college. During this time, she honed her skills as an Associate Editor-in-Chief and Photo Journalist for her school publication.
Currently, Marisstella finds fulfillment as an information officer within a government agency, a role where her talent for writing seamlessly blends with her professional life. Her published works include Whispers of the Heart, a collaborative poetry and prose collection with Dream Catchers Publishing, and The Heart of the Village Chief, a biography featured by The Preservation Foundation, Inc., alongside various online publications.
