I am JONATHAN OLIVER ALARILLA. Before I became fascinated in writing stories, I was originally drawn into drawing and some other forms of art. I like to design my original characters. I even took vocational skill training for 2D animation under TESDA with the help of the affiliated school.
J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series and J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings trilogy influenced some parts of my book. After reading their works, I felt determined to write my own as well. So in 2017, I started writing my manuscript while being an English language tutor to foreign students from Korea, Taiwan, Japan, and China. I also love watching anime series, particularly the ones with the ‘isekai’ trope. At the same time, I like Xianxia and Japanese films or series, too. All of these actually influenced my stories a lot as well. When I’m not writing, I draw and design my original characters.
Currently, I have an ongoing series on WebKom entitled Itnikus. It is written in Filipino since the whole theme is influenced by Philippine culture and folklore. The story includes my original illustrations of the creatures found in the world I created.
